Difficulties Creating New Topics

I encountered this issue when trying to create a new topic in the Catalyst category, but I see it is also an issue with the Conductor category. (The General category does not have this issue.) The obvious way of starting a new topic near the top-right states that I am not allowed to make new topics in the Catalyst category:

CatalystNewTopic1

but if I go to the “How to use the Catalyst category” post and click on “create a new topic”:

(picture to follow … as a new user, I am only allowed one per post)

then it looks like I can create a new topic:

(picture to follow … as a new user, I am only allowed one per post)

but I cannot:

(picture to follow … as a new user, I am only allowed one per post)

I had to change to the General topic in order to actually create this topic and make this post.

but I cannot. An error occurs when I go to post:

Hi @mdurham, you weren’t assigned with the proper roles to create topics in those categories. It should be working now, can you check?

I was able to create and delete topics in both Catalyst and Conductor, thank you. Hopefully future new subscribers will automatically be assigned the proper roles in all appropriate categories.

Interestingly, I was unable to reuse the topic title I had used in the Catalyst category when I tried to create a new topic in the Conductor category. The error message said that the topic title had already been used (which it had, but obviously in a different category) even though I had already deleted the topic from the Catalyst category.
